Audiobookshelf is a self-hosted audiobook server for managing and playing your audiobooks.Īudiobookshelf has a clean, accessible design that's loaded with features but not overly complicated. The biggest issue being metadata and how the books are displayed in your platform of choice. Previous recommendations were usually Plex or Jellyfin with plugins that can be cumbersome to install and get working properly. If you're a follower of the Self Hosted communities then you know Audiobooks are constantly being discussed and people are looking for a solution to self host their collection. But I wanted to get it into people's hands to get some feedback.Audiobookshelf is a one stop shop to self host your audiobooks, podcasts and ebooks with phone apps to boot! □ Then copy the RSS URL to your podcasting app. Under there create a new folder with the name of your podcast and put a media file in there (made sure the media file is directly inside the podcast folder, I am going to allow for nesting of folders for oganisation soon). It will create a folder called Apps/PushPod. īasically what you do is connect your cloud storage account (I would recommend OneDrive at this moment). But in it's simplest form here is a website I wrote to do this. Now, this is still only an early beta, and there is alot I would like to add. But realised we all have the perfect app for the job. I was going to write an app to solve the problem. Moving between devices was always a nightmare, transfering large files and having to keep positions. I have a large library and never enough space to hold them all. I have thought for a long time that there has to be a better way to enjoy Audiobooks.
